Two Minutes

Two minutes.

All I needed.

Two seconds.

All I needed.

Your name had been popping up all day.

On signs. On products in the store.

Heart still skips the same, but we don't talk anymore.

I don't know why, but instinct predicted you'd call,

and that this distance wouldn't be a grand fall.

I was sitting alone, thirsty and euphoric

when my phone rings my normal instinct

is to just ignore it,

but I got up.

Saw your face. Your contact. Your name.

I'm sure I sounded nervous; I didn't know what to say

but you lead the way, from the very first "hey".

and,

Maybe it didn't end at Exit 87.

Maybe it didn't end at the first confession.

Maybe it didn't end at "never cease".

But from here, I can see,

the best version of me.

Talk soon?
