3 Will Never Cease (the Nirvana, the Epiphany, the Symphony) - partially inspired by the music of Ben Gibbard

Section I: the Nirvana

You will never cease.

With your smile like a summer breeze,

and eyes that always bring ease,

My undying love, near or far,

Will never ever cease.

Not a continent I wouldn't cross

For minus three's a greater loss

Than anything that isn't real

And will someday someday cease

You're the only book I want to read,

The only air I want to breathe,

The only number I can see,

Three will never cease.

If only for just today,

we could both run away

As triads of stars smile for days,

“They will never cease”.

If only you and I could be,

I’d hold your heart, lock and key.

A dream that won’t ever leave,

You will never cease.

Section II: the Epiphany

April 11th, I forever embrace,

The night that I fell for your face.

Forever flashed before my eyes in sequences of three.

I’ll never forget that night;

I was a match, you were the light,

Under streetlights and great nights,

I stood alone, in awe, behind—

Epiphanies ran through my mind:

“I hope for this to never cease.”

It was a wave from a great height; coming down

Sarah once said that love is watching someone die;

and I instantly knew I’d found who I wanted to die beside.

In my own mind, trapped but you set me free.

And even if you can’t see, you will never cease.

It was the night my heart reset itself, and beat in triads of threes.

The night that echoes through my mind is,

Where I dropped the things that once meant most to me.

I didn’t have to write the lyrics; you wrote them for me.

For you lit something in me that will never, ever cease.

Section III: the Symphony

Your voice, like a melody,

Softly soaring through the atmosphere

The only song I want to hear

You will never cease.

I still think of silly things:

Is this rare? Meant to be?

But I always go to what can’t be,

When three could never cease.

Three weeks ago I had a dream,

Of running away with you, through a city

A triad of buildings stared -

“They will never cease”

9 divided by 3 written in my skyline,

And that won’t ever, ever cease.

And that’s the only math problem I’ll ever solve, for I would still do anything.

Anything to hold you

To hear you.

To feel you.

To be with you.

To see your smile.

To talk.

To fall asleep next to you.

..and I mean it all.

For you’re the greatest thing that ever happened to my world.

The only symphony worth writing forever.

The album I long to know every lyric to.

For love never dies, even if it leaves.

That will never ever cease.

You will never, ever cease.

Three will never, ever cease.
